Myles A.
Private tutor in Alexandria, VA
Education
I am a fourth year Biology major at the University of Virginia with a 3.7 gpa. Although I major in biology, I have taken a wide variety of classes in different departments at the university. I am originally from Nashville, TN where I attended Montgomery Bell Academy for high school.
Experience
I have tutored middle school students for three years and helped to lead a local Bible study for boys. I greatly enjoy tutoring and have developed the patience and individual attention needed to work with different students. Although I am a pre-medical student and have focused mainly in the sciences, I have also taken a wide variety of classes in English, History, and Psychology. In High school, I took 12 AP classes and came into college with three semesters worth of credit. These classes covered many different disciplines. Test scores: 2270 on the SAT and 519 (98th percentile) on the MCAT.

Hobbies
Outside of the classroom and other academic pursuits, I am an avid runner. I have run competitively on the Virginia club cross country and track team for four years, winning several races along the way. This past year, I was the workout coordinator (coach / captain) for the men's team. I have learned much about myself through this experience and have appreciated the chance to help my team mates improve. Art is another, less official hobby of mine. My older sister is a remarkable artist, and, although I do not have her skill, I often practice sketches as a way to relax.
