Experience
I've been a private tutor for over six years. To date, I have tutored 17 elementary, middle school and high school students, preparing them for various exams, including the SAT I, SAT II Subject Tests, PSAT, and state English Language Arts (ELA) exams. I tutored privately throughout high school and college. Because I truly enjoyed my experiences as a tutor, I wanted to continue after university. I think one of my strengths is that I present structured lessons to my tutees that are tailored to their individual needs. I like planning out and thoroughly preparing for sessions before-hand, so that my tutees go into tests fully confident in their knowledge of the material. SAT I Scores: - Math: 800 - Verbal: 770 - Writing: 800 AP Scores: - U.S. History: 5 - European History: 5 - English Literature: 5 - Macro/Micro Economics: 5 I received an AP Scholar with Distinction Award in my senior year of high school, and was a Finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. I am a recent graduate of Georgetown University; I received by BS in International Politics in May 2012. I am well-versed in the art of SAT preparation. I attended a SAT prep school, Elite Academy, for several years in middle school and high school. There, in addition to becoming extremely familiar with the format of the test, I took advanced Math and Verbal classes. After I took the SAT I myself, I proctored and taught classes at the center for a while, before my first year at university. I know what the most important elements of the test are, and how they should be taught. I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience. I was a volunteer teacher and program coordinator for the summer school program at Randle Highlands Elementary School in Washington DC in the summer of 2011. I taught a class of 20 students over 10-weeks, creating and executing Social Studies, Math, and English lesson plans based on DC's 5th grade curriculum standards. I also taught at the Connelly Middle School in New York City, a small charter school in the Lower East Side. I've privately tutored elementary school, middle school and high school students, and prepped them for a range of standardized exams, including: - NYS Regents in Geometry, - NYS Regents in Algebra; - NYS English Language Arts (ELA) Exam-Grades 3, 6, 7, 8 - SAT I (Math, Reading, and Writing Sections) - PSAT - SAT II Math Level IC - SAT II Macroeconomics and Microeconomics - SAT II US History - AP Literature - AP US History I coordinate my sessions to fit the material my tutees are being taught in school, and create tailored lesson plans for students in English (writing), Math (Algebra, Geometry, Trig), and History (U.S. History, Government & Politics, European History, Economics). I try my best to convey my enthusiasm for these topics into my tutoring sessions. My academic expertise lies in international relations and law. I hope to hope to become an international trade lawyer in the future. I've interned at the Council on Foreign Relations, the Asia Society, and the Hudson Institute. I've also worked at the office of New York City Council Member Gale A. Brewer and the American Civil Liberties Union's National Prisons Project (ACLU-NPP).

Hobbies
International law is my passion; a major portion of my coursework in college was based on this subject, and I love reading about it. I am currently working on a policy paper for publication in a foreign policy journal on emerging issues in international commercial arbitration. I also love reading about Russian history and politics. Besides my more academic interests, I enjoy life drawing, fashion-design and hiking.
