Experience
I have a year's experience teaching high school full-time and half a year's experience teaching middle school part-time. Before that I was a teaching intern at Hillsdale Academy, one of the most innovative private academies in the country. I also have a year's experience as a magazine editor. I received a BA in History from Hillsdale College, MI but come from England, where I received A-Levels in double mathematics, history, and philosophy. Recently I've taken up tutoring on the side. So far I have logged 20 hours at a tutoring agency, where I work with children anywhere from 4th to 12th grade in reading, writing, and mathematics. We focus on SAT prep for the high school students. I also recently took on my first private tutoring student, an adult ESL student working in business in the United States. I am helping her to improve her writing and conversation with attention to vocabulary, grammar, style, and tone.
