Private tutor in Alexandria, VA
Education
B.S. in Music Engineering & Technology with a Minor in Computer Engineering from the University of Miami in 2014. I held a 3.8 in my music studies and my principle instrument was classical saxophone.
Experience
I love music, and have always enjoyed music theory because it gives great insight and connects the dots into what you're actually playing; classical or otherwise. I took AP Music Theory in high school and scored a 5. I had four semesters of Music Theory in college, four semesters of Ear Training, two semesters of Orchestration, and one in Pop Composition. I maintained a B+ average in all those classes, and thoroughly enjoyed the classes and helping my peers out when they needed a better understanding. I have played saxophone for 10+ years, and got into school for that. I started guitar about 10 years ago, and picked up the bass along the way. When learning theory in high school, I taught myself piano and later had four semesters of keyboarding in college. I can teach any of these instruments, especially in the context/in conjunction to music theory and ear training.
