As a graduate student, I worked as a consultant in the Longwood University Writing Center, tutoring a diverse group of students. Upon graduation, I worked as an adjunct English instructor at a community college, teaching College Composition and Developmental Writing. I am passionate about education and enjoy working one on one with students to improve their writing. I love reading and I minored in Children's and Young Adult literature as an undergrad. I enjoy science fiction and fantasy films, graphic novels, and board games. I am a self-professed geek, and I wrote my master's thesis on portrayals of geeks and nerds in young adult literature. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks, photography, gardening, and knitting. Although my background is in English, I enjoy reading and learning about science.
